Kidney Stone

A stone in the kidney (or lower down in the urinary tract). Also called a kidney stone. Renal stones are a common cause of blood in the urine and pain in the abdomen, flank, or groin.

SYMPTOMS

  • Blood in the urine (red, pink, or brown urine)
  • Vomiting. 
  • Nausea.
  • Discolored or foul-smelling urine. 
  • Chills. 
  • Fever. 
  • Frequent need to urinate.
  • Urinating small amounts of urine.

CAUSES

Calcium phosphate stones are caused by the combination of high urine calcium and alkaline urine, meaning the urine has a high ph.
